On February 26, 2005 in New Haven, Connecticut it was a proven fact that metal is alive and well. The line at the door reached all the way to the end of the street. This event was sold out, and many disappointed fans were not allowed to attend. The crowd consisted of different ages, but it was quite obvious that the show was ruled by an under age audience since the bar wasn’t as packed. Throughout the night the pit was always occupied and the adrenaline was at its highest peak. Unearth was one of the bands that many people came to observe and listen to.
Unearth opened up with “The Great Dividers”, the opening track of their last release “The Oncoming Storm”. The song was played a lot of faster than usual, but still rocked the house. The pit broke out in utter chaos as the fans swung their arms around creating brutality. The show carried on as Unearth went back to their first full length release “Strings of Conscience” and played a few old school classics that many hardcore fans were familiar with. “One Step Away” received the biggest reaction from the crowd as fans screamed along to Trevor Phipps vocal lines. During the song “Zombie Autopilot” an older guy came running out of the pit with bloody nose and said, "Damn! Those young kids can fuck shit up!" Unearth continued to rock the house playing familiar songs such as "Endless", and "Black Hearts Now Reign". By the end of Unearth a small amount of people left as if Unearth were the main event, but many stayed to watch the headliner Atreyu.
