Mudvayne: Lost and Found
Reviewed by: Bill Steinbacher

Recycled, rehashed, repetitive, just a few of many similar words that come to mind when listening to Mudvayne's newest album Lost and Found. Now here was a band that was a relief to hear when L.D. 50, their first album, was released. In a time when hard rock/heavy metal was struggling in the creative department Mudvayne emerged out of nowhere and showed the world that at least a few musicians in this genre really knew how to play their instruments well. L.D. 50 was such a refreshing landmark for a lot of metal fans, and their second album The End of All Things to Come was just as creative and well thought out. Maybe they just blew their proverbial load on their first two albums and are now fresh out of ideas to make an album that does not clone their earlier releases, or maybe they fell victim to a record labels deadline and were forced to just get anything on record to be released. Whatever the case may be Lost and Found does not live up to the talent level that this band has displayed in previous years. The song "Choices" is really the only stand out track that sounds "fresh" and not rushed, the rest of the album just sounds like L.D. 50 and The End of All Things to Come scraps. If you are not interested in a band evolving with each album then you will be satisfied with Lost and Foundif you love their first two, but some people just want more from certain bands
