Ligeia: Your Ghost Is a Gift
Reviewed by: Avery Salamon

Ever since metalcore has become the new “it” genre of music we have become inundated with many artists that are just leaping in to cash in. Ligeia seemed like they might be the next one to do so; they aren’t. Your Ghost Is a Gift, out on Ferret Records and produced by Ken Susi of Unearth is a prime example of how this genre is supposed to be done.

Ligeia brings it with their straight to your gut breakdowns and harmonies that you can sing along with. They don’t try and make any excuses for their music. They just come at you and show you how to make the perfect CD for this genre. There wasn’t one song that was better than the other; they were all that damn good.

In a genre now dominated by copycats, they stand out. They may not be the originators, but they are definitely not imitators as proven by the CD. Now, when they come through your town be sure to have the CD and know the songs so you don’t feel left out at the show.
