Cradle of Filth: Nymphetamine
Reviewed by: Avery Salamon

Some of you have been given some samples of this new album on the roadrunner compilations that have already come out this year. Those two songs were teasers for what was to come from the new Cradle of Filth album “Nymphetamine”. The best work by this amazing band to date. I have never been their hugest fan but this just makes me like them even more.

This album is like a wild journey of the Nymphetamine (roughly translated as the druggish beast-like addiction to beautiful, classical women). It is so well done and story-like that you will put it on and go from song one until the end. There is less of Dani’s shriek, which might upset some fans but made this reviewer happy and made this album more listen able.

The album starts off with a huge introduction song done epically. Once that starts you don’t get a break until “Painting Flowers White” which is the 7th track on the CD. The first non-instrumental track is “Gilded Cunt” which is a killer track and brings you right into the vibe of the CD. “Gabrielle” is another great track with keyboards and synth throughout.

The title track of this CD is sick and includes amazing female vocals. The title track also appears on the Resident Evil soundtrack so you can go tease yourself. There is also a song that appears on the MTV2 soundtrack Headbangers Ball vol. 2 called “Medusa and Hemlock”. This song is a good way to follow up the 2nd instrumental on the CD. “Coffin Fodder” and “English Fire” are hot songs too. The last song on most CDs will “Mother of Abominations” is a great song that begins with chants. The Bonus track is the “Nymphetamine(fix)” and the female vocals return.

This album is amazing and will most definitely appear in my top 10 albums of 2004. This is the Best CRADLE album to date and I will highly recommend this album to everybody.
