A Life Once Lost: Hunter
Reviewed by: Avery Salamon

Randy from Lamb of God has been talking about this band for a long time and he started a huge hype machine for them. One may think with all this hype A Life Once Lost might not have been able to live up to such high expectations, but with Hunter  they do just that. This album contains full on metal that will rip your face off and shove it down your throat.

Hunter  has songs that cover more then just one topic. Relationships and all that comes with them is one of the major themes on this record. They also delve into topics about isolation and self hatred as well. What is amazing on this record is how well we can all understand the vocals. No matter how Rob is singing or screaming one can understand all that he is saying.

The music is extremely tight and it sounds as if the band has been playing together for decades and not years. Justin and Nick provide and extremely tight rhythm section while Rob and Doug trade shredding licks on the guitar while giving us some great hooks to groove too.

There isn’t a bad song on this CD. They are all excellent. A Life Once Lost gives us a whole record to listen to not just a CD where you search for the songs you like. The CD is all standout tracks. Some of my favorites are "Vulture", "Hunter" and "With Pitiless Blows".

This record has set up A Life Once Lost to be part of the future of what is the resurrection of metal. This album is solid and strong leaving us to all think what a bright future this band has.
